Miranda, Clubs Coordinator

HI! I’m Miranda and I am currently a BBA Accounting student. When I was the Events Coordinator for the SBSA, I frequently saw how much the SSU got involved with and supported the club. After experiencing the encouragement and support from the SSU, I knew that I wanted to be a part of that. I am looking forward to doing what I can to help each club achieve their goals.

Get to Know Miranda (she/her):

Have questions about clubs? Want to join or start one of your own?

Q: What are some of your goals for your role this year?

A: “One of my goals is to encourage more international students to join a club. It can be difficult being in a new place, so a club can give students an opportunity to make friends and have a community that shares your background or interests.”

Q: What program are you in? And why did you choose this program at Sheridan?

A: “I am entering my third year of the BBA Accounting program. I've always loved analyzing numbers and thinking strategically, which is what I knew I could gain from being an accountant, though it may sound a bit boring. I chose Sheridan because I enjoyed the school culture and I liked the openness to innovation.”

Q: What are 3 things on your bucket list?

  1. Ride a bullet train in Japan

  2. Write a book

  3. Live on a farm

What was your first memory of the SSU? How did you discover that the SSU existed for student support?

“During orientation in my first semester, we visited the SSU booth. We were given so much information about the services that are offered and the student perks we can receive. There are so many options that students have when seeking support.”

Which SSU Perk Partner is your personal favourite?

“ I personally enjoy the Presto Card Discount.”

What's the best SSU event you've attended so far?

“The International Cultural Fair was the best recent SSU event I'd been to. I had the opportunity to have a booth and share parts of my culture and learrn so much about others.”

What's your favourite SSU Food spot on campus or go-to meal?

“Station Kitchen”

Are you a part of any SSU clubs/ associations or volunteer work?
