This conference is FREE and open to everyone, bringing together members of the Sheridan community from across different streams and leadership experiences to provide you with an opportunity to learn and connect with your Sheridan peers. Meet Your Keynote Speaker, Carla Cuglietta
Carla Cuglietta is a Canadian born educator, humanitarian and keynote speaker. Over the last 22 years she has been involved in several global projects in Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, China, India, Sierra Leone and Uganda. Carla is the Executive Director and Co-founder of YoungLeaders.World, an international non-profit organization whose aim is to help young people understand that leadership is a mindset, not a status. To date, YL.W has provided leadership training to over 12,000 youth worldwide . She has spoken to tens of thousands more through her keynote speaking tours.
Carla has been awarded the Canadian Prime Minister's Certificate of Achievement, the University of Alberta Alumni of Distinction for her work in engaging youth in leadership. In addition, she has been awarded the YWCA Woman of Distinction and the Lions Club International Award for her leadership and humanitarian work around the world.

Carla will share powerful, inspirational experiences from around the globe that demonstrate how the mindset of leadership empowers, unifies and uplifts. Leave with a clear understanding of what leadership is and how to start to develop a leadership mindset in your own life.

Meet Elijah Williams
Elijah’s advocacy is informed by his background as a member of the Turtle Clan of the Cayuga Nation. The values and principles of the Haudenosaunee prescribes that the work he does needs to build a positive legacy for people living generations from now. He is an educator from Six Nations of the Grand River. Elijah is the Director of Indigenous Engagement at Sheridan. In addition to his role, Elijah is the Chair of the Board of Directors at Grand River Employment and Training (GREAT). Elijah believes in the transformative power of Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing, providing learners with an educational toolkit to flourish and thrive.
Meet Robert Poulton
Robert Poulton is the Vice President of Marketing and Branding for NBC-owned television stations in Boston, Massachusetts, including NBC10 Boston, NBC Sports Boston, Telemundo Boston and NECN (New England Cable Network). Prior to joining NBC, Robert was the head of design for CNN Creative Marketing group in Atlanta, where he was responsible for brand and promotion design across all of CNN’s platforms. While at CNN, Robert was integral to the launch of shows and initiatives such as the CNN Films franchise, Anderson Cooper 360° and Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown.
Throughout his career, Robert has been recognized with National Emmy awards, Broadcasting and Cable Campaigns of Distinction and numerous design, promotion and marketing awards. Robert began his broadcast career in Toronto with Global Television and is a proud graduate of Sheridan College and Seneca College.
Meet Chuks Ezeokafor
Chuks Ezeokafor is a member of the Executive Team at Levitt-Safety, a national distributor of safety products and services with 19 branches across Canada. He develops IT strategy and leads teams responsible for IT innovation, security, B2B eCommerce and enterprise projects. Chuks is co-Chair of Levitt-Safety's Sensitivity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
Prior to joining Levitt-Safety in 2018, Chuks held senior technology roles at major corporations in Canada, the U.S. and Nigeria. Chuks co-owned and led sales and marketing teams at RMV Publications, which holds publishing and distribution rights for Where magazine in the Canadian Rockies.
He served on the Tax & Economic Affairs Committee of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. In his spare time, Chuks volunteers as a career coach and mentor to undergrads and mid-career professionals in the GTA. He obtained an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University, and his BSc and MSc in Computer Science from the University of Lagos.
Meet Janene Christiansen
Janene has been working in the post-secondary, higher education field for 17 years in Office of the Registrar roles at three different GTA colleges including Sheridan College. Currently Janene is the Deputy Registrar, Enrolment Services at Sheridan, a newer role which was created almost two years ago.
Janene is passionate about enhancing and providing an expectational student experience. She leverages policies, procedures, and connects students and staff alike to evolve processes and system improvements through the student life cycle. She loves working within the college sector and the diversity of students and community it brings.
