By: Tyler Bogaert, Chair, SSU Board of Directors 2016-17
On behalf of the Sheridan Student Union Board of Directors, welcome to our monthly update. First let me introduce you to what we do at the SSU. We are an elected student board of directors that governs and manages Sheridan Student Union. We offer many services that are outlined on our website.
I have a goal for this year’s board, to be present and active in the Sheridan community. I strongly encourage all students to take advantage of our services and to let your opinions and ideas be heard. We at the board will listen and do everything in our power to make your experience with the SSU the best possible.
I am very excited to introduce you to this year’s Sheridan Student Union Board of Directors:
Davis Campus: Aadesh Puri (Secretary), Simranjit Singh Sandhu & Gunjan Arun Makwana.
HMC: Ben LeBlanc (Vice-Chair) & Navnit Bains
Trafalgar: Tyler Bogaert (Chair)
In May, the Board came up with our goals for 2016/2017. They are as follows:
Communications: The goal is to research and establish lines of communication to improve the quality of Sheridan Student Life.
Services: Strive to better improve all SSUI and Sheridan services for students both on and off campus.
Sustainability: Work towards making the SSUI and Sheridan College more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Student Engagement: Develop and enhance the metrics and methods used to measure and gauge student engagement in the Sheridan Community.
Community: Create, manage and improve relationships in the Sheridan and external communities through board outreach and involvement.
Spaces: Enhance student SSUI and Sheridan College facilities to better serve students academically and socially.
Events: Develop and enhance events to reflect the diversity among Sheridan Students.
Students who wish to contact the board can contact us either through the SSU or by emailing us. Our emails are listed here.
I hope to meet as many of you as possible throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to say Hi!
